Code Of Ethics

This work asks for trust. I take that seriously. The following reflects my personal commitments to everyone I work with. This page sits alongside the formal Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of the Association of Certified Sexological Bodyworkers (ACSB), to which I also adhere.

Your Wellbeing Comes First

Everything that happens in our work together is in service of your learning, your growth, and your wellbeing. Sessions are never an opportunity for my own gratification—sexual, relational, emotional, or otherwise. If I ever feel that I cannot serve your best interests, I will tell you honestly and support you in finding appropriate care.

Consent is Ongoing

Consent is not a box ticked at the beginning of a session; it is a living conversation. We agree on boundaries before we begin, and those boundaries will not be expanded within that session. You can pause, adjust, or stop anything at any time—and I will follow your lead without question.

Touch is Educational

Any touch that occurs in our work is conscious, intentional, and solely in service of your process. It is never assumed. It is never initiated by me without your clear, expressed desire. Touch is one tool among many, and its purpose is always your empowerment, not your dependence on me.

Power and Privilege

I am aware of the power inherent in the practitioner-client dynamic, further shaped by my position as a white European immigrant working in Oaxaca. That dual position influences every professional relationship I enter. I commit to ongoing reflection on how power, privilege, and cultural context affect our work. I will not assume your experience from my own social location. I will ask. I will listen. I will be willing to be corrected.

Confidentiality

Everything you share with me stays with me. Your identity and the content of our sessions will never be disclosed without your explicit written consent. The only exception is a legal or ethical obligation to report a genuine concern regarding imminent harm to yourself or others—and even then, my first step is always to speak with you directly whenever possible.

Scope of Practice

I am a somatic sex educator in training, currently completing my final project and supervision at the ISSSE (Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education, Victoria, Canada). I am not a therapist, psychologist, or medical professional. I will always be honest about the limits of my training and will refer you to other professionals when your needs fall outside my scope.

Integration and Aftercare

The work doesn't always end when the session does. I commit to providing a space where the "coming down" or integration of your experience is respected. I will provide guidance on how to care for your nervous system and integrate your learnings after we finish our time together.

Ongoing Supervision and Development

I engage in regular professional supervision as a core part of my practice. This keeps my work grounded, accountable, and continuously developing. Your safety benefits directly from this commitment to oversight.

If Something Feels Wrong

If at any point something in our work together doesn’t feel right—I want to know. You are always welcome to raise a concern directly with me. If you prefer to do so through an external body, you can contact the ACSB through their formal grievance process.
